British surveillance agency GCHQ has joined Twitter.
Four years after His Holiness the Pope gave the blue bird his email address, the spooks have signed up (with an immediately verified account, natch) with the official handle of @GCHQ.

Andrew Pike, director of communications at GCHQ, said: "In joining social media GCHQ can use its own voice to talk directly about the important work we do in keeping Britain safe."
