NetApp hints at blue turn

NetApp is hinting it's getting closer to Azure.

The Sunnyvale firm's Data Fabric connects its on-premises storage with public cloud, particularly Amazon’s cloud with its Direct Connect service and Cloud ONTAP offering.

Grant Caley, NetApp’s chief technologist for the UK and Ireland, talking at the TechUnplugged conference in London, May 13, said we might expect announcements regarding NetApp and Azure later this year strengthening how NetApp storage works with Microsoft’s Azure cloud. We are thinking of an Azure Direct Connect equivalent and Cloud ONTAP operating as an Azure cloud instance. ®
