Capital One releases AWS code

Banking giant Capital One has released code it built for AWS.

Capital One is reported to have open-sourced its Cloud Custodian on GitHub, a rules engine for managing resources running on AWS. The financial firm claimed Cloud Custodian has helped it slash its consumption of AWS resources by a quarter, producing cost savings. Cloud Custodian supplanted Capital One’s use of scripts and tools. It's of particular note as it takes a legal, cultural transformation for employers to let their staff release code they’ve built to open source, especially in financial services. ®
