SuperMicro, IBM hook up

Adding POWER servers yo its Xeon Ultra line

SuperMicro is developing two new POWER-based servers for IBM, based on the company’s “Ultra” architecture, which currently features dual Xeon E5-2600 v3/4 CPUs. IBM will add them to its LC scale-out server line. The two systems are a storage rich 2 socket 2U box, and a 2 socket, 1U unit with less storage3. They will be GPU and CAPI acceleration-enabled and optimised for cloud and so-callede cognitive workloads. ®
