Dell EMEA channel czar Binetti to hang up corporate Stetson
30 years at Texan tech biz is enough for any man... except maybe Michael
Dell’s EMEA channel overlord Laurent Binetti is to pass the sales baton to fellow company exec Michael Collins in the coming weeks as he heads out of the door.
Binetti has worked at the Texan tech baron for nearly thirty years, starting as sales director for mid- and large-corporate business, setting up operations in Eastern Europe in between and latterly operating as veep and GM of the regional channel organ.
He confirmed to us that he is to hang up his Dell Stetson for the last time at the beginning of February, the firm’s new fiscal year.
“I am leaving on good relations,” he told us, “I am not going into retirement I am not old enough… I will be back somewhere towards the end of the year.”
Channel customers partners now account for half of Dell’s global revenues, “growing double digits in the last three years,” said Binetti, “there will be no change of strategy or approach”.
Collins, who ran Dell in the Middle East and Africa will step into the role. Binetti said the company had planned for this handover for a year to prevent any “disruption”. ®
