VMware UK and Ireland lands SAP industries chief

Virt giant pulls Phull

Virtualization giant VMware’s UK and Ireland operation has bagged a new managing director – from SAP.

The German giant’s director of industries and UK and Ireland executive board member David Phull has emerged as VMware UK&I vice president and general manager.

Phull had been with SAP since December 2010 but left the head-of-industries position after just one year.

Before SAP, Phull had served with IBM for 10 years.

VMware told The Reg Phull is taking over from David Parry-Jones, who become vice president and general manager for Northern Europe in November.

Jones has been with VMware for three years, having joined from Microsoft where he’d occupied a number of senior director and general manager roles.

Phull will be expected to draw on his knowledge of verticals and customer contacts there to help the virtualisation giant break into new accounts and expand its presence in existing ones, both on-prem and in the cloud.®
