Reg reader achieves bronze badge, goes directly to jail

Prison term unrelated to forums posts, we believe

Those of you who've been knocking around the El Reg forums for a while will know that we have a badge system designed to honour invaluable Reg reader contributions to the site, or at least acknowledge a certain degree of commitment to giving forth.

To get a foot on the first step on the ladder of glory - the bronze badge - you must have an "operated forum handle for more than one year, and more than 100 posts in the last 12 months".

Having fulfilled those criteria, you then receive a heartwarming congratulatory email, as did "D****" yesterday:

In case you're wondering why we've redacted this lucky recipient's name, well here's his reply:

Thanks Drew! It seems likely I'll be in prison by this time tomorrow so won't be posting again, but if the Sheriff asks me what I've been up to for the past year then I'll be sure to mention this achievement :-)

Blimey. We'd like to assure readers that nothing D**** has posted in the last 12 months merits jail time, and if the sheriff's reading, we'd like to say that he's proved a valuable member of our community. ®
