Microsoft is about to launch a UK store within a store
WLTM new partner, GSOH, extra storage space desirable
Microsoft is scouting locations across big cities in the UK with a view to rolling out a "store within a store" concept, according to our sources.
Senior UK heads at the software giant have briefed property investment companies, and one told us the vendor was “working with retailers for experiential stores.”
Microsoft has long threatened to open its own flagship store in the UK, as it has done already in the US, to give customers a shopping experience more similar to that of Apple.
Yesterday the company launched a flagship store in Sydney Australia.
In recent years Microsoft has tried to take its retail destiny into its own hands, producing hardware as a design reference point for its operating systems, including the Surface Pro and Surface Book.
The portfolio extends to mice, phones, fitness bands, the Xbox and the soon-to-launch Surface Hub, the 55- and 84-inch wall mounted touch screen that has been delayed.
Microsoft declined to comment. ®
