Crayon slurps US-based SAM minnow Anglepoint

Euro licensing powerhouse Crayon has acquired a majority stake in US-headquartered software and IT asset management services minnow Anglepoint.
This is the Microsoft house’s second bite-sized buy in North America following a deal with Software Wholesale International in July.
Founded in 2009, Anglepoint sells IBM and SAP license management services, and provides asset management for software, hardware, end users and SAM tool vendors.
The company has offices on the east coast of the US, in the UK, Germany and Singapore, employing around 70 heads. The brand name will live on, the companies confirmed.
Torgrim Takle, Crayon CEO, said Anglepoint has a “scalable delivery platform” that can be rolled out across the other territories where Crayon has a local presence.
In calendar 2014, Anglepoint turned over $10.2m and reported EBITDA of $3.5m.
Details of the cash and stock transaction were not disclosed. The Anglepoint brand name will continue, we are told.
Crayon, the largest Microsoft licensing partner in the Nordics, set up shop in the UK in 2013.
It has since hired a bunch of industry vets including former Insight EMEA veep of sales Frank Bitoun as senior veep of sales, former business manager at Insight Steve Burgess as global partner director and one time Insight EMEA marketing director Ashley Gatehouse. ®
