Data centre OS upstart Mesosphere flutters eyelashes at devs

Clustered, cloud crew

Data centre operating system hopeful Mesophere has rolled out programs and tools targeting developers and prospective partners.

The VC-funded startup announced the Mesosphere software developer program and SDK on Wednesday.

Included for code-slingers is documentation, reference libraries and support that Mesosphere reckoned would make it simple to develop all kinds of distributed services or applications on its cluster stack.

Mesosphere’s toolkit works with Java, Scala, Python and C++.

The firm, founded in 2013, is also on the hunt for partners and announced its VIP Partner program, with a view to bringing ISVs and hardware partners into the fold.

Early sign ups are Concord, Typesafe, MemSQL and Crate.

Mesosphere senior research analyst Derrick Harris said on the firm’s site reckoned companies’ existing technologies that could benefit from added scalability and resilience the DCOS provides or – using its platform – they could build “next-generation” enterprise applications.
