SCC: Look at our bulging figure(s). We're fatter than some MSPs

Ignore crashing product sales, that was planned... honest

Over on the Continent

Across the English Channel, SCC’s major European op in France looks more like the Brit division – or at least, the Brit division as it was a few years back – as is it largely based on product reselling.

SCC France reported revenue of £812m, up three per cent in constant currency, which given the dire state of the local IT market isn’t a bad showing – tech spending grew at just one per cent in calendar ’14 according to Forrester. In that environment, the business reported EBITDA of £15.7m, up 5.4 per cent.

The company did not release gross or profit before tax figures for France. The business employed 2,114 locals.

At SCC Spain, revenues bounced £8m to £48m and EBITDA was up 1.2 times to £600k. Staff count was 137.

In Romania, turnover was up 103 per cent to £9.2m and EBITDA was £1.2m.

The company employed 711 people in Romania in the year that providing level one to three help desk support, software packaging and distribution, infrastructure monitoring of the data centres, maintenance and back-up.

SCC expects the Romanian biz headcount to rise to 1,200 peeps during this fiscal – as the demand for its data centre services rise, so too should the support requirements.

During the year, SCC offloaded its ‘sub scale’ Dutch business to Misco for a undisclosed sum. It had turned over €103.7m in the year to 31 March 2013.

At group level, SCC’s collection of businesses turned over £1.55bn, down from £1.74bn, and grew EBITDA to £35.2m, up ten per cent.

This means SCC’s operations are edging closer to its near-term goal of £50m EBITDA, set out last following following a restructure of the internal teams.

The numbers released to us are not yet filed at Companies House but SCC told us they are audited and will not change. ®
