Hold on to your hats: LOHAN'S PRATCHETT mission launch imminent

Edge Research Lab poised in Colorado for avionics test flight

PRATCHETT: Honouring the late, great Sir Terry

Our US allies at Edge Research Laboratory are as we speak on the ground at Colorado Springs East Airport preparing for the imminent launch of the Low Orbit Helium Assisted Navigator (LOHAN) PRATCHETT mission.

Lift-off is scheduled for around 13:30 Mountain Daylight Time (19:30 GMT), and all being well, you should be able to follow the balloon and payload as they soar stratowards on Edge's live map right here.

Edge will also bring you Twitter updates here.

For details on the mission – which is a final test of our Vulture 2 spaceplane's avionics rig, direct yourself here.

Once the PRATCHETT has landed and the dust has settled, we'll offer a full report on this latest piece of spaceplane tomfoolery, including an analysis of the critical flight data. Keep watching the skies ... ®
