Google TUGS Nexus 7-INCHER from its online store

Just as well, perhaps, after Lollipop lick froze some older tabs

Fandroids may be mourning the sudden death of Google's Nexus 7 slab, after the world's largest ad broker yanked the device from its online shopfront over the weekend.

A visit to the Google Store reveals that the tablet has now been axed.

Anyone searching for a Nexus 7 will be told that it "is no longer available for purchase".

Readers may recall that the Nexus 7 fondleslab, which first appeared on the market back in 2012, suffered ice-cold headaches after Google released its major Android update, codenamed Lollipop, in November last year.

Plenty of folk grumbled that the upgrade had made the tabs unusable.

Google has now distanced itself even further from its 7-incher by killing sales of the slab via its online store.

But the Nexus 7 is still being sold in obvious places elsewhere on the interwebulator – you just have to know where to look. ®
