Carphone Warehouse, RootMetrics ink data deal, declare customer love

Software shows the signals

Carphone Warehouse will use RootMetrics data – essentially network performance information – to help customers choose which networks they should be on.

A deal between the high street super-power and the frozen frothy coffee-led research organisation will see staff in the shop look up the places where customers want to use their mobes before selling them a new one.

“By working with RootMetrics we are taking affirmative action to give our customers even more in-depth analysis," said Graham Stapleton, CEO UK and Ireland, Carphone Warehouse.

Carphone sales bods will use data from the drive round surveys they do and the CoverageMap App, which is also what they will use to look up the bespoke details for the customer.

“Choosing the right provider cannot be taken lightly," said RootMetrics CEO and president Bill Moore, "and by providing our data directly to Carphone Warehouse customers on the spot, they will be able to make more informed decisions.“

Since EE has consistently won in Rootmetrics testing, much to Vodafone's chagrin, it's going to be interesting to see how the networks react.®
