Microsoft Gold and Silver cloudy boy makes big hires
Former Kelway and Bytes execs land at Content and Code
Microsoft’s cloudy poster boy Content and Code has parachuted in a couple of directors to free up time for CEO and co-founder Tim Wallis to work on special biz dev projects.
The London-based based Microsoft partner, which carries Gold and Silver badge certifications, has hired big hitting former ISC and Kelway exec Simon Lawless as managing director and ex-Bytes director Darren Spence to run the sales floor.
Wallis told us that Lawless is the first MD at C and C brought on board to “take care of the day to day operations”.
“I’ve got a strategy and vision based around analytics and it will require a lot of my time and energy to transform the company.
The company claims to be the UK’s number one Office 365 and SharePoint partner but we have no stats to verify this, and Microsoft will not provide them. The CEO wants to build new practices around Lync voice, CRM and Azure.
The previous sales director Simon Shaw left more than a year ago and is now working on ‘strategic accounts’ at VMware. His eventual successor, Spence, ran Bytes document arm and had also worked on the volume software team.
In calendar 2013, the most recently filed accounts for C&C at Companies House, the firm turned over £7.6m, up from £7.1m in the prior year and made an operating profit of £754k, pretty much flat with the previous cash haul. ®
