The new features in the app include:

  • search for music tracks enabled across all services,
  • refreshed design with “sleek interface” and
  • highlighted album art.

Sonos says:

Android owners interested in testing through the beta program can find out more information regarding participation by logging into their account on sonos.com. We plan to update the desktop controllers for MAC and PC later this year.

If you're not an account-holder, you'll have to sign up, however...

Android phones and tablets running Android version 2.2 or higher are supported in the beta program. Existing Sonos controllers will continue to work.

The new controller app should be released in the spring. ®
