Former BT and IBM GS president rocks up at Logicalis
Bullard's the name. Gary Bullard
Logicalis Group has brought in former Logica and BT exec Gary Bullard as CEO to replace outgoing boss Ian Cooke, who is set to retire from the role and become the firm's non-exec chairman.
The network integrator will usher in the new big cheese from next month as "CEO designate" but Cooke does not leave until 1 March.
The head of parent company Datatec, Jens Montanana, confirmed the top level recruit with gushing praise, talking up his "calibre and international industry experience".
Bullard was made chairman at New Model Identity, which creates tech designed to identify fraud and is a non-exec director of business investment and research firm The Smart Cube.
Those companies may not be familiar to all in the industry but Bullard has an illustrious track record in big corporate roles: he was previously UK CEO at Logica (now owned by CGI), GM at IBM Global Services, and president of BT Global Services . He takes over a business that was firing on all cylinders in its fiscal '13 numbers ended February, with sales reaching $1.35bn, a nine per cent year-on-year hike, as profits swelled by 28 per cent to $54.7m.
The integration arm continues to outshine the more challenged distribution business, Westcon, within the Datatec Group.
Kelly is now at mid-market M&A and debt advisory firm Livingstone. ®
