Microsoft's UK OEM boss swaps Blighty for Singapore
With weather like this, who can blame him?
Microsoft's senior UK OEM director Gary Fowle is transferring to the same role in the firm's Singapore operation.
Fowle rocked up at the software titan in September 2009, with a remit that included working with big PC players and what was left of the local builder community.
He replaced Alison Dodds, who was once tipped for the top job in Microsoft UK but left to pursue interests outside of the OEM sector - and the company.
Sources tell us that Fowle is in the process of making the move to Singapore but he did not answer calls to his mobile, and as yet Microsoft was unable to provide a detailed response.
Apparently, as is often the case in large corporation, UK PR needs to get authorisation from APAC PR to comment, and this has taken six days so far.
Fowle began his tech career in the channel as a salesman at distributor Micro Peripherals, but was tempted by the bright lights of vendor land when Sony came calling.
He was briefly tempted back into distribution with Computer 2000 but got a call from Fujitsu Siemens and then hot-footed it to Microsoft. ®
