Avnet sales bigwig Bryant to hop off after Easter

Magirus slurp out of the way, now she's on her way out

Avnet Technology Solutions sales director Denise Bryant will up sticks and leave the biz next month.

Bryant was UK boss at distie Magirus until it was acquired by Avnet last year. She joined her new employer as one of four sales directors, focusing on the EMC, VCE and NetApp vendor franchises.

It seems the corporate world of Avnet didn't suit Bryant, who had headed up Magirus - a smaller privately owned Euro outfit - for nearly eight years. Prior to that she worked at Integritis and ICL.

"I can confirm that Denise Bryant will be leaving in April," said Sukh Rayat, Avnet senior veep for the UK and Ireland and computer components and integrated solutions.

He said Bryant "played a pivotal role" in the integration of enterprise outfit Magirus but said she decided to take on a "new challenge" elsewhere.

There are no immediate plans to replace her.

Sales directors remaining at Avnet include: Laura Harman who runs the HP, networking, security unit, and strategic, mid-market and SI accounts; Christian Curtis who manages IBM, Oracle and services; and David House who oversees the OEM and MSP business. ®
