Preposterously named SAP reseller Itelligence UK has swallowed rival Blueprint Management Systems (BMS) for an undisclosed sum.

German-owned Itelligence has set its sights on becoming SAP's biggest Brit bruiser and the buy up of BMS adds a chunk of business intelligence and data warehousing revenues to the top line.

"Our UK business is now the third largest unit at itelligence worldwide with revenues of £40m and 180 employees," said Norbert Rotter, CFO at Itelligence AG.

The interest in the UK is slanted toward the business analytics space, a priority for SAP, IBM and other enterprise vendors' channels.

Founded in 1993, London-based BMS employs 60 staff and had a turnover over £8.9m in 2011, up from £7.8m a year earlier. In the same year it recorded an operating profit of £166,000, up from £134,000.

Customers of BMS - an SAP BusinessObjects Gold reseller and SAP Authorised Education Partner - include ING Bank and Eurostar International.

The last accounts filed for Itelligence UK show it turned over £5.2m, down from £5.7m in calendar 2010, and made a loss of £350,000 compared to a £167,000 profit in the earlier twelve months.

An Itelligence spokeswoman in Germany told The Channel trade is estimated to achieve a £40m run rate in 2012. She pointed to the expansive impact of UK acquisitions Chelford SAP Solutions and Contemporary plc.

Globally, Itelligence hit sales of €342m in 2011, up from €272m a year earlier, and made an EBIT of €20.4m, compared to €14.9m in 2010, said the spokeswoman. ®
