Dell pulls Magirus out of the trenches for data centre assault
UK arm finally gets the call up
Magirus has finally penned a distie deal with Dell in the UK more than a year after landing a similar contract on the continent.
The agreement, which kicks off in April, covers Dell's data centre kit including enterprise servers, storage and connectivity gear.
"Dell's portfolio helps companies cut operational expenditure," claimed Denise Bryant, UK boss at German-owned distributor Magirus.
The company was unavailable to detail why the UK alliance was struck some 14 months after the pair began working together in France, Switzerland, Germany, The Netherlands and parts of southern Europe.
Dell claimed Magirus gives its access to 6,000 trading reseller customers, "particularly virutalisation partners who need support migrating to virtualised data centre and computing solutions," said Dell's director of marketing programmes for Europe, Kathy Schneider.
The Texan titan has been slow to build its network of UK distributors but to date counts Hammer and Micro P in its channel roster. ®
