CES 2012
Sony has begun to drop 'Ericsson' from new smartphones following its acquistion of the Swedish comms kit company's share [2] of the pair's mobile phone business.

Exhibit A (above) is the Xperia Ion, announced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) today. It's an Android boy with a 4.6in, 1280 x 720 display - bigger than yours, LG [3] - a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU; a 12Mp camera on the back; 16GB of Flash storage; and HDMI output.
Sony said the PlayStation Certified Ion will go on sale in the US in Q2, and we'd say it'll out over here in that timeframe too, though almost certainly without the LTE connectivity AT&T will be offering the phone with. ®
