Australian IT services company Appichar has developed a new cloud-based relationship management platform branded supporter360 which targets the not-for-profit sector.

The platform, which is set to be rolled out globally, was built by teams in Sydney and Melbourne over the last 18 months.

Locally the platform will be deployed to a number of companies with a combined income of nearly $AU500 million. appiChar founder and CEO, Ian Ryder says that even in pre-launch, requests have been coming in from the US, Canada, New Zealand, Japan, Italy as well as Australia and the UK.

The company has a strong relationship with the Salesforce Foundation, which offers free access to products for not-for-profit organisations. The NFP sector employs around 14.5 percent of the Australian workforce.

appiChar have been working with not-for-profit organisations for over a decade in the UK and the last three years in Australia.

In April, the company merged with Sydney-based nfp-i which specialises in technology for associations and membership organisations and also with the Canberra-based ITMS Group, an IT managed service provider working mainly in the not-for-profit sector.

"Disruptive technologies are generally great for everyone apart from the old-fashioned companies who would really rather cling onto the old way of doing things. They're making good money out of charities and fundraisers and would like to keep the flow coming. A measure of our success will be if they have to change or they just become irrelevant," said Ryder. ®
