Agentless Backup is Not a Myth
Confirmation - if it was really needed - that Vodafone was holding back the Samsung Galaxy Nexus because of the infamous volume drop glitch: the day after Google and Samsung fix the bug [1], Vodafone starts selling the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich handset.
The operator is offering the dual-core smartphone [2] free on a £41-a-month two-year plan that includes 900 minutes of call-time, unlimited texts and 750MB of mobile data.
The Galaxy Nexus went on sale in the UK on 17 November. Immediately, Vodafone said it was holding the handset back [3] for further "testing".
Other carriers released the phone anyway - and straight away owners complained that audio volume would suddenly plunge during calls, typically when the handset switched from a 3G connection to GSM. ®
