Huawei builds channel red army in Europe

Signs distie deal with SDG for UK, France and the Netherlands

Huawei has penned a distribution deal with SDG to punt its enterprise kit to resellers in the UK, France and the Netherlands.

The Chinese firm continues to build its ranks internally by bringing on board industry big-hitters – including former Cisco channel exec Dominique Vanhamme – to run its EMEA partner network. It brought in Dave Poskett and Simon Culmer to head up UK.

Externally, the enterprise arm of Huawei has already signed a UK-specific deal with Micro P and, as exclusively revealed, is expected to ink an agreement with Tech Data as a pan-European wholesaler.

Paul Eccleston, boss at SDG EMEA, claimed in a PR blurb that Huawei is set to have a "major impact in EMEA".

Returning the favour, Vanhamme said SDG would accelerate growth of its enterprise biz in the region .

Well you'd hope so, otherwise the two businesses will be wasting each others' time... ®
