NOVA 2
As a single-player game, NOVA 2 is a respectable sc-fi first-person shooter, described by some as the nearest thing to Halo on iOS. In multi-player mode, however, it really comes into its own. Play with up to nine other people over a wireless network and choose between five different game types, including team deathmatch and capture the flag. There are stacks of weapons to choose from too, making NOVA 2 a great way to get that shoot-'em-up fix with friends.
Real Football 2011
Sure there are other footie games on iOS, but none combine graphics, gameplay and multi-player options the way Real Football does. The 2011 version has licences for Barcelona and Real Madrid, so you can replay El Clasico over and over, or take the Spanish national team to the World Cup and win it, again and again. You can coach a team through the season, upload replays to YouTube, and take on your friends over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
Real Racing 2
No list of multi-player games would be complete without a racing game. And there are plenty to choose from, but Real Racing 2 has a trick up its sleeve that, combined with its jaw-dropping graphics, puts it at the head of the pack: multiplayer AirPlay support. You’ll need an iPad 2 and an Apple TV, but with those you can challenge up to three opponents in split-screen mode. If you don’t have an Apple TV, you can compete against up to eight opponents over a local Wi-Fi network or up to 16 other cars online. There are 12 tracks and 48 cars to choose from, all stunningly detailed. Stunning.

From a personal point of view, it's also shallow and boring. It's one for the self-proclaimed "real gamers" mainly.
Given that the iPad 2 GPU wipes the floor with the Tegra 2 in benchmarks, I suspect you're wrong about that.

Actually, the Android version has about one seventh the texture detail. Either that or I'm trying to make some point about pulling random numbers out of thin air.
