Logicalis hires industry veteran as UK sales boss
Chris Miller moves to integrator
Logicalis has brought in former CA Technologies big cheese Chris Miller as sales director, The Reg can reveal.
During more than 14 years at the security vendor, Miller was UK sales manager, senior veep of EMEA operations and a senior veep upon returning to the UK and Ireland.
Most recently he was the CEO at DediPower Managed Hosting, which was swallowed by acquisitive firm Lumison last month.
Tom Kelly, UK managing director at Logicalis, confirmed that Miller will oversee a team of more than 100 sales staff.
"He is coming in to do a big job with a big team at an exciting time for us, to capitalise on the investments that we've made in the data centre, the cloud and managed services," Kelly told The Register.
Miller replaces Duncan Gooding, who left last November ahead of joining Computacenter in January as director of networking services.
Kelly said Logicalis had "taken [its] time to find the right guy".
Berkshire-based Logicalis acquired Inca Software earlier in the year to wrap its business analytics specialisation into cloud services hosted from its own data centre alongside other as-a-service technologies including compute, storage and network.
Services accounted for about 32 per cent of Logicalis' £190m UK revenues in the last full financial year ended in February.
More recently, Logicalis grew turnover worldwide by 26 per cent to $602m (£383m), with products and services sales up 23 per cent and 34 per cent respectively in the first half of fiscal 2012 ended 31 August. ®
