COMPAREX swallows Indian firm IRIS

Microsoft LAR eyes Asian expansion

Microsoft large account reseller COMPAREX has acquired Indian software and IT services firm IRIS Unified Technologies for an undisclosed sum.

The deal follows the formation of a sub in the country's capital Delhi earlier this year and underpins the reseller's push into Asia-Pacific.

"I want to stress my belief that India has the potential to evolve into the third largest subsidiary within our group. Now, we have come one step closer to achieving this target," said Dr Klaus Elsbacher, CEO of COMPAREX.

IRIS resells software and provides typical maintenance, professional services and IT training. All 70 staff and boss Navin Kapur will transfer with the business to the new owners. ®
