Gibson Guitar has taken its classic 1960s Firebird axe into the 21st Century with the launch of a limited edition hi-tech guitar system, the Firebird X.

The Gibson Firebird X rocks up with features such as fourth-generation Robot tuners for automatic tuning, on-board effects and wireless bluetooth pedals.
It even allows for third-party developers to chip in with their own apps for an even greater number of add-ons and effects. These'll be sold through an authorised e-store, Gibson promised it will set up soon.

Limited to 1800 models, the Gibson Firebird X [1] is available from tomorrow in both Redolution and Bluevolution finishes for a cool $5570 (£3553). ®
