Adobe tosses more big deals dosh at resellers
Bring in some business, earn a small cut
A shakeup of deal registration payments by Adobe could help its links with hard-pressed resellers.
A classic four-tiered partner scheme – Registered, Certified, Gold and Platinum – goes live on 3 October and as part of this Adobe is raising fees for deals logged on its system.
"Resellers are facing an increasingly competitive landscape, margins are being driven down and this gives them incentives [to work with us]," said Matt Shillum, head of channel at Adobe UK.
Resellers registering a deal under $10,000 get 3 per cent of the total recommended retail price in fees, which rises to 4 per cent on business worth up to $50,000 and 7 per cent beyond that, the Creative Suite developer confirmed.
The fees will be paid out irrespective of whether a reseller closes the deal, providing they have initially ring-fenced it on the system.
"Resellers will be paid for actively going after opportunities... they don't need to worry about someone snatching a deal," said Shillum. ®
