Former Insight veep Akkerman rocks up at Rackspace

Channel warhorse gallops into the cloud

Cloud based data management

Former Insight veep of sales Olaf Akkerman is expected to join Rackspace as enterprise sales director, according to sources close to the matter.

He resigned from the reseller last month after less than a year in the role – though he had been at Insight since September 2006 when it acquired Software Spectrum.

Sources have now placed channel veteran Akkerman at the managed-hosting/cloud computing provider, following hot on the heels of Insight marketing director Paul Bolt, who became enterprise marketing director EMEA at the firm.

Akkerman is on holiday and was unable to comment, and Rackspace declined to. ®
