Agentless Backup is Not a Myth

Samsung has unveiled the BD-DT7800 Freeview HD recorder as the latest addition to its Smart Hub AV range, with this model able to function as a digital media server.

The BD-DT7800 comes with a 500GB HDD, Wi-Fi connection and 3D abilities such as 3D recording and 2D to 3D conversion. It packs twin HD tuners as well as DLNA compatibility.

It's all about Samsung's Smart Hub though, which brings access to a range of on-line content from apps for Facecrack and Twitter to YouTube access, BBC iPlayer and rental services such as AceTrax.

The Samsung BD-DT7800 is available from 11 August for £229.

Samsung BD-D8900

The company is also touting £50 discounts until the end of October on a range of Blu-ray players. This particular recorder being one such device.

Other models that qualify for the full discount are the BD-D8900, BD-8500 and BD-D8200 Blu-ray players.

Those who buy a BD-D6900 Blu-ray, BD-DT7800 or SMT-S7800 video recorder will get a £30 reduction. ®
