Olympus has taken the wraps off three new members of its micro four-thirds system camera family, Pen.
The additions include the Pen Mini "the world’s smallest and lightest system camera", according to Olympus. A challenger for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF3 [1] then. Also dubbed the E-PM1, the Mini is aimed at folk after a point-and-shoot that also offers more creative freedom than compacts usually offer.

Specs include a 12.3Mp live CMOS sensor; 3in, 460,000-dot LCD; ISO 12,800 sensetivity; and 35-point autofocus. Full details on Olympus' E-PM1 page [2].

Next up is the E-PL3, aka the Pen Lite [3], successor to the E-PL2 [4] and sporting a similar spec to the Mini. But it has a tiltable 3in, 460,000-dot LCD.

Finally, the top-end E-P3 is Olympus' retro-look Pen flagship, again with a 12.3Mp sensor but much faster focusing than the other two, the company said.

You can read all the numbers here [5].

The E-P3 goes on sale in August, but the other two cameras won't arrive until the autumn. Prices have yet to be set. They'll be available simplay as bodies, and in a variety of lens kit bundles. ®
