Lenovo ThinkPad pad emerges
Fondleslab folio combo
Lenovo President Rory Read said earlier this month that the company is working on an Android-based ThinkPad tablet , and the gadget has now had its first outing, in Brazil.
The 10.1in, 1280 x 800 tablet is based on Android 3.1 Honeycomb, local Portuguese-language site Ztop reports, running on an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core chip .
Like Asus' Eee Pad Transformer , the ThinkPad pad is designed to operate alongside a detachable keyboard build into a folio case along the lines of those Bluetooth keyboard cases offered to iPad owners .
Where the keyboard connects physically or by Bluetooth isn't known, but it does sport an optical trackpoint.
No word on pricing of course, but Ztop said the gadget will ship in a month or so, tallying with Read's earlier comments. ®
