Reg hack applauds asinine augmentation

Vulture Central expands donkey portfolio

I'm delighted to announce that the El Reg Iberian bureau this morning celebrated the second happy new addition to its donkey portfolio, in the shape of a perfectly-formed jenny.

Those of you who've been following the fortunes of our resolutely non-IT-related attempts to preserve Spain's donkey stocks will doubtless remember the birth last September of Aladdin.

Well, Aladdin's pure-race Zamoran dad "Presumido" (or Prezzie as he's known to his mates) was this morning puffing on a cigar as his second sprog popped into the world. And here she is, with mum Ruperta...

Reg hack's new jenny poses with mum

Tradition dictates that the name of any foal born during the owner's first year of breeding should begin with "A" - hence Aladdin. In the second year, the moniker must begin with "B", and so forth...

My daughter has the honour of picking these names, but we thought it would be fun if we invited Reg readers to select a shortlist of names beginning with "B" for her viewing pleasure.

So, please raise a pint or two to the as-yet-unnamed bucha (as they're called in these parts), and while you're doing so post a comment with your suggestion as to how our jenny should henceforth be known.

I'll pitch a shortlist of ten to the girl, and she can make the final decision. ®

Bootnote

Take note: despite my threat last year, "Ballmer", "Bill" and "Brin" will not make the final cut. It's just too cruel.
