We know Nintendo's next console will be out in 2012 [1], and now we know the videogames pioneer is pruning the price of the Wii [2] to keep the machine selling in the meantime.
In two weeks' time, the console will cost £50 less than it does now.
You can't buy a Wii on its own, only in a bundle pack with Wii Sports Resort. Currently, it costs £179. On 20 May, it will cost £129.
Nintendo will introduce a second bundle, based on Mario Kart Wii, on the same date. It'll contain the white Wii - the Wii Sports Resort pack will include the black version.
A range of cut-price copies of older titles - Wii Sports, WarioWare: Smooth Moves, Mario Strikers Charged Football and Animal Crossing: Let’s Go to the City - will be released on the same day. ®
