Hertz offers Londoners e-cars for hire

Hertz is to give the chance to hoon around London Town in an e-car for just four quid an hour.
The catch: you have to join the rental company's Connect by Hertz pay-as-you-go club. Membership cost £50 a year even if you never drive one of the firm's cars.

Sign up, though, and you can now hire a Mitsubishi iMiEV alongside the existing choice of the Fiat 500, Alfa Romeo MiTo and Ford Focus.
Hertz said it will soon have a number of Nissan Leafs in London too. You can read what we think about the Nissan in our First Look [1].

Still, if you fancy trying out the latter through Hertz, be warned: it currently only has two of them in its London fleet. ®
