Well, recruiting Darth Vader for a Windows 7 promotion probably would have panned out better than a short dalliance with Family Guy:

MS dropped plans for a TV variety special "devoted to the comedy of Seth MacFarlane, creator of Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleveland Show" when it decided the content "was not a fit with the Windows brand". ®
