BBC iPlayer coming to Panasonic tellies

Only new ones, though

Choosing a cloud hosting partner with confidence

Panasonic has confirmed that BBC iPlayer is coming to some of its internet-connected HD TVs.

iPlayer will be integrated into Viera Connect, Panasonic's UI for IPTV services, but tough luck if you have an older set: iPlayer appears to be destined for 2011-released models only.

These include plasma and LCD models ranging from 32in to 65in, 24 sets in total. Most are 3D TVs too.

iPlayer joins existing Viera Connect-linked IPTV services like YouTube, Dailymotion and Acetrax. The Panasonic UI also provides a front end for Google's Picasa, Skype, Twitter and Facebook, and links to music servces Ustream and Shoutcast. ®
