Video on demand

The films tend to be family-friendly fare, such as Batteries Not Included, Jurassic Park and Mama Mia, along with animated films and teen comedies, but the lure of Being John Malkovich and The Big Lebowski was enough for me to sign up for my first month.

Playback is just like using iOS' iPod app

The streaming video is only standard definition, and there’s a bit of pixel-blurring when you expand it to full-screen on the iPad, but it’s fine for just passing the time on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

My only complaint is that you can’t download films for watching offline, as that would improve video quality and also come in really handy when you’re travelling away from home. ®

The selection of films is fairly conservative, but it’s great value at just a fiver a month and with no long contracts to sign.

Ooops!

Kudos indeed for watching The City of Lost Children, but a big fail for the cast list being taken from the 1997 game rather than the film which actualy stars Ron Perlman, Daniel Emilfork and Judith Vittet.

Looks good

Seems like a fairly decent model and a decent price point too.
