Merseyside man nabbed following raids around Wigan

Staffordshire Police have arrested a second man in connection with the aggravated burglary at Broughton Hall - home to Phones4U millionaire John Caudwell.

Over the weekend, Staffordshire Police searched several addresses in the Wigan area, and on Monday a 33-year-old man from Merseyside was arrested and questioned.

Detective Chief Inspector Tim Martin said: "The detailed investigation 
into the burglary at Broughton Hall is ongoing and a dedicated team of detectives are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry. The man arrested this morning in connection with 
the incident will be questioned by detectives and his home in Merseyside will be searched.

"A number of warrants were also executed in the Wigan area over the weekend as our inquiry continues."

Police have also released images of the jewellery and watches stolen in the raid.

The other man arrested as part of the raid - a 43-year-old, previously described as 48 years old, has been bailed while enquiries continue.

Caudwell was injured during the raid and his partner and a staff member were also assaulted. ®
