Fujitsu signs gravy train agreement

Fujitsu has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Coalition government.

The reseller, which has several massive government contracts, said the agreement was reached following discussions with cuts minister Francis Maude at the Cabinet Office.

Maude is looking for savings across the board. Fujitsu's Chief Executive for UK and Ireland Roger Gilbert said the company was pleased to respond as requirements from government changed.

He said he was looking forward to "continuing our partnership with the UK Government through successfully exploiting technology to deliver ever more effective public services for the benefit of UK citizens”.

Fujitsu supports many government departments and scored a massive win by beating HP to the desktop support deal with the Department of Work and Pensions. ®
