The British rap star DJ Ironik was in hospital last night after being stabbed in the left buttock by robbers who had tracked him by Twitter.

DJ Ironik was mugged outside his home in North London at 3am Saturday as he returned from a gig in Southend.

He was with his manager but, outnumbered, threw a diamond cross and jewellery at the gang and ran to his front door. He still got stabbed.

In a Twitter post at 2.26pm Sunday, DJ Ironik said he had been discharged. He also thanked friends, family and fans "that have showed me lots of much love!.."

DJ Ironik's friends say the gang knew his whereabouts because of his Twitter posts about the Southend gig.

The rapper recently boasted on TV that his diamond chain was worth thousands. According to reports, Police have already recovered the jewellery.

DJ Ironik is a well-known anti-knife campaigner. But that is not ironic.

Agentless Backup is Not a Myth

Its like...

...ten thousands spoons, when all you need is a knife!

I'll get my coat..

... Southend?

"The fact that he made it out of Southend alive on a Saturday night, a small matter like a mugging with violence must have been a walk in the park!"

[1] he was attacked on his own doorstep in North London

[2] had he been attacked in Southend, he would likely not have survived; impersonating a musician is very poorly tolerated in these parts
