UK video rental service Lovefilm [1] will soon be streaming some of its selection of content to PlayStation 3 owners.

Neither Sony nor Lovefilm have said as much, but a video posted on the PS3 YouTube channel - but now removed - clearly showed that the service will be coming to the console sometime this autumn.

Top marks to fansite Everything PlayStation [2] for spotting the video before it was yanked.

It's no great surprise, mind. Lovefilm already streams content to subscribers who own a Sony internet-connected TV, and to Samsung and Panasonic net tellies too.

That said, the streaming service isn't a patch on Lovefilm's PC-based movie download offering and falls well short of the vast array of DVDs and BDs the company sends subcribers through the post. ®
