Lovefilm to stream to PS3

More choice if you rent discs

Watch Now : Virtual Machine Movement with Hyper-V

UK video rental service Lovefilm will soon be streaming some of its selection of content to PlayStation 3 owners.

Neither Sony nor Lovefilm have said as much, but a video posted on the PS3 YouTube channel - but now removed - clearly showed that the service will be coming to the console sometime this autumn.

Top marks to fansite Everything PlayStation for spotting the video before it was yanked.

It's no great surprise, mind. Lovefilm already streams content to subscribers who own a Sony internet-connected TV, and to Samsung and Panasonic net tellies too.

That said, the streaming service isn't a patch on Lovefilm's PC-based movie download offering and falls well short of the vast array of DVDs and BDs the company sends subcribers through the post. ®
