Proporta Aluminium Lined Leather Case

RH Numbers

If you fancy something a little more butch than the Shine then Proporta also offers this smart-but-tough alternative. The name is self-explanatory: it’s a smart leather case that has an aluminium plate stitched inside the front panel in order to provide extra protection for the iPhone screen. There’s also a strong magnetic clasp to keep the case tightly closed, or you can open it up and flip the cover right back so that it acts as a stand. Proporta also do a vegetarian version made out of faux leather for £25.

Scosche glosSEE g4

RH Numbers

There’s nothing fancy about Scosche’s glosSEE cases, but they’re good value for money as you get a twin-pack for less than £20, which makes it far cheaper than Apple’s own outrageously-priced effort, and a good choice for dual-iPhone households. The glosSEE is a simple rubber sleeve that covers the back and sides of the iPhone to protect it from scratches. They’re both semi-transparent, but one is creamy white while the other is tinted black.

Ten... iPhone 4 cases

Griffin Elan Passport Wallet

Really?? A phone/wallet is a good idea? I enjoy carrying my wallet next to my face when talking on the phone. It really helps maximise the efficiency of little scrotes that want to steal my wallet or phone - now they don't have to make a choice!

Incipio

I have an Rubber Johnie Incipio case and after a few weeks its as loose as a wizards sleeve.

Also it catches on my pocket when I try to stuff it in and pull it out repeatedly.

Yes, And....

This round-up was also prompted by the little matter of 'antennagate'....

If Apple was forced to give millions of cases away for free then most iPhone users will probably consider a case an essential item - which is not the case for most other types of 'phone.

Hmm

I can't believe El Reg still isn't invited to the Apple WWDC after reviews like this? :)

Let me guess...

next weeks article - "Top.. Ten.. Essential.. Reasons.. Why you must buy an iPhone soon?"

With the obscene amount of iCoverage of late, it seems like someone is trying too hard to get back on His christmas card list.
