Seagate stuffs 3TB drives in NAS box

Seagate has added its 3TB [1] drive to the 2- and 4-slot BlackArmor NAS boxes, taking capacity up to 12TB.
Both systems will come pre-populated with 3TB drives in each bay.
The BlackArmor [2] NAS 440 is configured with RAID 5 and ships with 10 backup software licenses out-of-the-box, while the NAS 220 ships with RAID 1 configuration for automatic data mirroring and five backup software licenses.
Additional licenses for both products can be purchased in 2 and 5 -set increments on Seagate.com [3].
For the first 30 days, CDW [4] will provide the 12TB BlackArmor NAS 440 for a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $1,899.99, and NewEgg [5] will sell the 6TB NAS 220 for an MSRP of $649.99. ®
