T-Mobile UK pushes German Froyo to Desire users

Top marks to T-Mobile [1] UK... er... Orange... er... Everything Everywhere, which has just pushed out an update that will take owners of its HTC Desire smartphone to Android 2.2 [2].

And even more marks for ensuring it's the German update.

Yes, punters were this weekend treated to a the latest version of Google's smartphone operating system... and a host of untranslated apps from T-Mobile Germany. Worse, you can't uninstall them afterwards.

To be fair, punters also appear to have gained improved Wi-Fi reception, phone-as-hotspot operation, a better Gmail implementation and more advanced video playback. ®
