Memory specialist Kingston [1] has brought USB 3.0 [2] to its USB Flash drive family.
The DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 doesn't quite deliver the full SuperSpeed 5Gb/s experience, but its claimed 80MB/s (640Mb/s) read speed and 60MB/s (480Mb/s) write speeds put it ahead of what a USB 2.0-based equivalent can deliver.
At those speeds, a 2GB file will copy in 25 seconds or so.

Since USB 3.0 incorporates a separate USB 2.0 bus, the DataTraveler is backwards compatible with the older standard, of course.
The stick comes in 16, 32 and 64GB capacities, each backed by a five-year warranty. Prices run from £57 to £173. ®
