Security for virtualized datacentres

O2 has updated its version of the Dell Streak 5in internet tablet - reviewed here - to Android 2.1.

The operator said that the release will appear as a notification on Streak screens, but users can also go into the device's Settings, select About Phone and then System Updates.

It added that the update will wipe the machine, and warned that it's essential to back up your data to SD card. You'll lose your apps too, but these can be re-downloaded, O2 promised.

O2 said to download and install the update will take 30 minutes. It said that any Streak with a battery that's less than half full should be plugged in.

There are more details about the update process here. ®
